Could this be a Plain Prinia? Somehow I felt this bird was just a wee bit smaller and they were in a group of five...

I would say that this species is a Jungle Prinia. Plain Prinias have longer supercillium and reddish eyes and more greyish back. Was this photo shot in a scrub?. If yes, then you can be certain that you have photographed a Jungle Prinia.

Plain Prinia has a yellowish eye and the flight feathers have rufous edges, so the bird in the photograph is not a Plain Prinia. When you take a good look at the head you can see a very clear dark border of the upperside of the supercilium, which starts by the bill, broadens and ends behind the eye. It is about the same length as the eye-stripe. This pattern fits; Black-browed Reed Warbler, Paddyfield Warbler and Manchurian Reed Warbler. I have no experience with Manchurian Reed Warbler, but I have seen many Black-browed Reed Warblers and several Paddyfield warblers. The facial patterns seems to me to be correct for Black-browed although the supercilium may be to short. I don't think that Paddyfield Warbler could be eliminated on facial pattern. Judging the general coloration and the bill and legs color I think this is a Paddyfield Warbler.
