Ranthambhore is all that I had read about and imagined. The fort, the water (Rajbagh), the sambars, the crocodiles, the tigers… they were all there!

Nannaj the Bustard Land!
Here the grass stand tall and the male India Bustard in all its glory is on display!!While, a few females are feeding close by. Blackbucks roam about without any danger except for a few wolves that linger in the bushes. Hundreds of birds can be seen all over this wonderful grassland, once the home of the Cheetah!!

On an invitation from Vijay Mohan Raj , IFS, I went to Dandeli. My dear friend Jayanth drove me down from Bangalore. As the trucks were off the road, we did the 550 kms in just under 7 hrs! What a delight the trip turned out to be!

Create a Habitat for Birds
The most ideal bird habitat would comprise of some open land, a couple of water bodies, plenty of tall grass, shrubs & creepers, and a mix of trees of various heights and spread.
