Topic - Flycatcher?

29/12/2001...This bird was sitting in a bush by the river side, off Kanakapura, about 100 kms from Bangalore. It was smaller than a House sparrow , say about 10-12 cms . What bird is this?

This has been identified as ASIAN BROWN FLYCATCHER * Muscicapa dauurica

I would pitch in for the Asian Brown Flycatcher if you could confirm the notch in the middle at the tip of the tail. Especially with the white eye ring. I regularly see a similar specimen in my compound with lot of white streaking on the wings. The specimen here has a much more prominent eye ring.
